Baby Knits

Today I finished two projects. A red jacket and some booties. Both for the baby. Some might be forgiven for thinking that this baby is going to be born in December, not May, but hey, you know the what the British summer is like.

I am loving knitting at the moment and now feel quite lost that I have nothing on the go... not sure what I can get click-clacking on next? Perhaps something for the boy... poor chap has not been knitted anything yet.

Both projects are in my Ravelry. The jacket here and the boots here. Both projects are free ones, the jacket from here and the boots here, and both were really great quick knits... highly recommended. The only concern I have is that the booties really are tiny. I think if I made them again, I would make them longer in the foot. They currently measure up at 7cm heel to toe... I know babies are small, but 7cm? Besides, it looks like I'm cooking up a nine and a half pounder in here.

And, how are you all? Enjoying this sunny spell?

Just so in love with baby knits at the moment (although this could be due to the fact that my friend is due tomorrow...)

As for the sun - halleluiah! Its definitely been an instant pick me up after all the grey we've had recently. I've even (shock horror!) not worn tights today or yesterday! Yes, there are some who argue that to see skin that pale can blind a man, but its still a pretty momentous thing!

Very excited about the ever closer arrival of your new tiny (who I'm sure won't be a 9 and a half!)

Oooh, I used to love knitting tiny baby clothes! I know a few people who are having babies soon so may be busting out the needles myself.

I had a similar sizing thing - I knitted little sizes only to end up having elephant babies ... those late scans are lovely but they do end up revealing some large sized truths sometimes!

Love the jacket and the booties... but especially the booties!

This is going to one well-dressed baby. I love the bright colours - such a refreshing change from the usual insipid pastels.

Cute! My scrawny little kids would have probably not fit those booties 'til they were about 3 months old. I don't know if they had small feet, but they certainly had chicken legs...

oooh just caught on that this is you, if you see what I mean. Lovely lovely cardi. Keep seeing things that make me want to re-learn knitting...

Just hope you don't have the 12.5lb baby that was my ex-husband! Good thing his Mum knitted just blankets and things for larger babies that she thought he'd grow into, he fitted just right into them!
Best of luck with the baby!!
I agree these booties are so much better then the pastels these are classy and way too chic!!!
